🚊 LA Metro System
Los Angeles is investing billions in expanding its Metro system ahead of the 2028 Olympics. The rail and bus network will be the primary transportation mode for spectators, with direct connections to major venues.
Metro Rail Lines
6 rail lines covering 100+ miles, connecting Downtown LA, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Long Beach, and the South Bay. New extensions will reach LAX and Inglewood.
Metro Bus
Extensive bus network with express routes to Olympic venues. Look for special Olympic shuttle services running frequently during Games.
TAP Card
Get a reloadable TAP card for seamless travel across all Metro services. Available at stations, online, and at retail locations throughout LA.
✈️ Airport Connections
Getting from LA-area airports to Olympic venues will be straightforward with dedicated transit connections.
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
- LAX/Metro Connector: New people mover connecting LAX to the Metro system (opening before 2028)
- K Line: Direct rail connection from LAX to Inglewood venues including SoFi Stadium
- FlyAway Bus: Express service to Union Station and other locations
Other Airports
- Long Beach Airport (LGB): Close to Long Beach venues, connected via Metro Blue Line

SoFi Stadium & Hollywood Park

🚗 Driving & Parking
While public transit is recommended, some spectators will drive. Here's what to expect:
- Limited Venue Parking: Most venues will have restricted or no on-site parking. Pre-purchased permits required.
- Park & Ride: Remote parking lots with shuttle service to venues will be available throughout the region.
- Olympic Lanes: Dedicated lanes on major freeways for official vehicles and buses. Expect traffic restrictions.
- Carpooling: HOV lanes will be strictly enforced. Consider carpooling to use faster lanes.
📱 Ride-Sharing & Taxis
Uber, Lyft, and taxis will operate during the Games with designated pickup/drop-off zones at venues.
- Surge Pricing: Expect higher prices during peak event times. Book in advance when possible.
- Designated Zones: Each venue will have specific rideshare pickup locations - follow signage.
- Wait Times: Post-event waits can be 30-60+ minutes. Consider walking to nearby stations instead.
